Blue Mosque

Blue Mosque is originally named as Sultanahmet Mosque after the founder of the Sultan Ahmet I. The name of the Blue Mosque was given almost a century later by the travellers.

Hagia Sophia

Hagia Sophia was built by the Byzantine Emperor Justinian in 537 dedicated Divine Wisdom. It was converted into a mosque after the Conquer of the city by the Ottoman Empire.

It is now both Museum since (1934) and Mosque (2020).

Hippodrome

Hippodrome is a Roman structure which was built in AD 200 by the Roman Emperor Septimus Severus. It was the center of civil activities and sportive life of the Empire. It was named as “Square of Horses”, “At Meydanı” in Turkish during Ottoman Empire. We will see on the Hippodrome the Egyptian Obelisk, Serpentine Column, Column of Porphyrogenitus and German Fountain (1898).
